I’m leaving this review to warn others. Links Property are not registered with the correct deposit protection schemes or regulatory bodies, which means your tenancy deposit isn’t legally protected.
This is a serious issue. By law, every letting agent or landlord must register deposits in a government approved scheme (such as DPS, TDS, or MyDeposits) and provide tenants with proof within 30 days. Links Property failed to do this, and when questioned, they were unable to show any registration details or membership with a recognised redress scheme.
If you’re thinking of renting through them, proceed with extreme caution. Without proper registration, you have no protection if there’s a dispute at the end of your tenancy. Always check that your agent is listed with The Property Ombudsman or Propertymark, and confirm your deposit has been secured before handing over any money.
I wish I had known this before. It’s caused unnecessary stress and uncertainty. Hopefully this helps others avoid the same mistake.
